Born in Arlington, Michael graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington and, later, St. Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas.  While at St. Mary's School of Law, Michael focused his legal studies on Constitutional and criminal law.  In addition, Michael was involved in pro bono legal clinics at the law school focusing on the representation of indigent clients.

After graduation from law school, Michael was employed at the Webb County Attorneys Office in Laredo, Texas, where he prosecuted cases involving the abuse and neglect of children for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.  As an Assistant County Attorney, Michael preserved the rights of innocent children to be protected from physical abuse and neglect, while ensuring services were provided to parents and children in need to fascilitate the reunification of families.

After returning to north Texas, Michael was employed with the City Attorneys Office in Arlington prosecuting traffic offenses and violations of city ordinances.  Fueled by a desire to handle higher level offenses, Michael accepted a position as a felony prosecutor with the Victoria County Criminal District Attorneys Office in Victoria, Texas, prosecuting cases involving drugs and gangs, including capital murder, murder, aggravated assault, aggravated sexual assault, burglary, robbery, engaging in organized criminal activity, deadly conduct, driving while intoxicated, intoxication asault, and theft. 

After handling thousands of criminal cases and dozens of jury trials as a prosecutor and gaining the experience necessary to take on cases involving all types of felonies and misdemeanors, Michael decided to become a criminal defense attorney in Tarrant County, Texas.  He was employed with one of the largest criminal defense firms in the state of Texas defending clients charged with offenses ranging from traffic tickets to first degree felonies, including DWI, aggravated sexual assault, possession of controlled substance, possession of marijuana, theft, burglary, robbery, assault family violence, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal mischief, credit/debit card abuse, and more. 

Having gained valuable experience both as a prosecutor in Arlington and Victoria and as a defense attorney in Tarrant County, Michael decided to open an office to provide effective and competent representation to those accused of criminal offenses, while ensuring their Consitutional rights were protected.  As a defense attorney, Michael has represented clients in Tarrant, Parker, Johnson, Wise, Jack, Denton, Dallas, Cooke, Ellis, El Paso, Willacy, Victoria, Goliad, Refugio, Calhoun, and Dewitt counties.  Michael established The Law Offices of Michael Pool, PLLC, to provide ethical, honest, effective, personalized representation at an affordable and reasonable price with the goal to obtain the best possible outcome of the client's case.
